North Korean media described the meeting as a historic event demonstrating the “invincibility and durability“of the friendship and unity of the two nations.
Putin arrived in Pyongyang early Wednesday, after stating that the two countries want to cooperate closely to try to overcome sanctions imposed by the United States due to the intensification of confrontations with Washington.
The visit comes amid growing concern over an arms deal under which North Korea supplies Russia with ammunition for the military offensive in Ukraine, in exchange for economic aid and technology transfers.
