At least five people have been killed and five others injured when a train collided with a bus in southwestern Slovakia.
In a tragic accident in southwestSlovakia, a train collided with a busresulting in the death of at least five people and leaving five others injured. The incident occurred in an area near the border town of Štúrovo.
The train involved was a Eurocity who was traveling from the Czech capital, Prague, towards Budapest, the Hungarian capital. More than 100 passengers were on board at the time of impact.

On the other hand, the bus suffered significant damage and was split in two after the collision. Railway authorities and rescue teams, including firefighters and medical personnel, quickly responded to the scene of the accident.
Ľubomír Solák, President of the Police of the Slovak Republic, reported that approximately 30 agents and between 9 and 10 teams were involved in the operations of rescue and first aid. However, due to the presence of high-tension cables, extinguishing work could not begin until the cables were removed.
Meanwhile, train passengers stranded were transferred by bus to the border town of Štúrovo to receive care and assistance. Authorities are investigating the causes of the accident and providing support to the victims and their families.
