An attacker with a crossbow wounded a Serbian police officer guarding the Israeli embassy in Belgrade on Saturday, according to the Serbian Interior Ministry.
The Minister of the Interior, Ivica Dacic, declared that the attacker He fired a crossbow at the agent, hitting him in the neck. He said the officer who “used a gun in self-defense to shoot the attacker, who died as a result of his injuries.”
The police officer was conscious when he was transferred to the main emergency hospital from Belgrade, where an operation will be performed to remove the bolt from his neck, he added.
Still the identity of the attacker is being determined. “All circumstances of the attack and possible motives are being investigated,” Dacic said.
