The Serbian Justice contradicts the Government and gives the green light to the construction of a mine in Jadar

The Constitutional Court of Serbia has annulled the government decree that paralyzed the Jadar mine project. The activists protested against the decision at the Justice headquarters.

“The decree by which the establishment of the spatial plan for the mining project in the Jadar region is completed because it does not comply with the Constitution or the laws,” the court statement said.

Previously, the president of the ‘Start-Change’ Movement, Savo Manojlovich, announced that the decision of the Constitutional Court in this case annulled the government regulation that canceled Jadar’s project.

Early on Thursday, citizens were invited to participate in a protest held before the Constitutional Court by an environmental organization. The project has been paralyzed by a decision of the Government since the beginning of 2022.
