The defense industry exhibition Eurosatory has opened in Paris with controversy, as a French court banned Israel from participating in it.
At the arms fair they have been shown since dronesto armored vehicles and various artillery systems. This weapons exhibition, the largest in the world, showcases the latest military technology.
Eurosatory is held every two years. This time the fair presents more than 2,000 stands from 61 countries, as well as international organizations. This includes the European Commission, which, as a relatively new player in this activity, has intensified its strategy for the development of the Defense industry since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine.
“This year’s exhibition has been seen affected by ongoing conflicts. For the first time, Israel has been banned from participating in an international defense exhibition due to its offensive in Gaza. A French court has ruled that exhibition organizers must ban anyone from working for or representing Israeli companies. They will not participate in the event either, Russia and Belarusdue to the large-scale invasion of Ukraine,” explains Sofia Khatsenkova, Euronews correspondent in France.
