Qatar 365 explores some of the best activities adventure lovers or visionaries can do in Qatar, such as rock climbing, parkour or the LEGO exhibition, where anything imaginable will be built.
Whether you are looking for adventure or a family activity, Qatar will meet your expectations. The Qatar 365 team has participated in some very fun activities both indoors and outdoors. Let’s start with something unexpected: rock climbing. Laila Humairah has been to Aspire Zone, a complex that houses Qatar’s first outdoor climbing facility and EsQalar Sports. Climbing enthusiasts can try different techniques (rope climbing, guided climbing, bouldering or free climbing) on 10.5 meter high walls similar to the famous Zekreet rocks west of the peninsula.
To experience a different kind of adventure, Laila has met with Talal Altamimi, founder of Freestylers Tribe, Qatar’s first parkour gym. ‘Parkour’ is a fusion between running, climbing, jumping and doing acrobatics and is also a unique way of overcoming obstacles. Talal has spoken about his journey, the challenges he has overcome and the skills he has developed. He has even designed a program for children with the intention of not only teaching them the sport, but also increasing their self-confidence. With the sport’s popularity on the rise, Talal foresees parkour as a possible Olympic discipline in the near future.
Finally, Aadel Haleem has visited the LEGO exhibition that was recently held at the Qatar National Convention Center for those looking for a mental challenge rather than a physical one. The exclusive Lego exhibits were erected on 10,000 square meters. It was the perfect place for children and not so children to admire the incredible creations there or use their imagination to play and build with the legendary pieces.
