French President Emmanuel Macron stated this Thursday that France will provide Ukraine with Mirage fighter jets to defend themselves against Russian aggression.
Macron stated in an interview with French public television that he will announce on Friday “a new cooperation with Ukraine and the 2005 Mirage salethe French-made fighter aircraft that will allow Ukraine to protect its soil and airspace” against Russian attacks.
France will also begin training Ukrainian pilots, Macron said, reiterating that Ukrainians should be allowed Ukraine employ weapons provided by their Western allies to attack Russian military targets and “neutralize the points from which the country is being attacked.”
On Wednesday, the Russian president, Vladimir Putinpointed out that the use of German weapons by Ukraine on Russian soil could lead to “very serious problems”. The president has warned that Moscow could provide long-range weapons to third parties to attack Western targets.
