Four Russian warships, including a nuclear-powered submarine, will arrive in Havana next week, according to official Cuban sources who referred to “historically friendly relations” between both nations.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, which heads Bruno Rodriguez, reported this Thursday in a press release that the four vessels will be in Havana from June 12 to 17. He clarifies that none of them will carry nuclear weapons and assures that its presence “does not represent a threat to the region.”
The announcement came a day after US officials said Washington had tracked Warships y planes Russians who were expected to arrive at Caribbean for somemilitary maneuvers. They said the exercise would be part of a russian answer broader US support for Ukraine.
