In a tragic development of the situation in the Gaza Strip, a new attack by Israeli forces has left a devastating result. According to reports from the Gaza Ministry of Health, at least 71 people lost their lives and another 289 were injureds in a bombing that took place on Saturday in the south of the Palestinian enclave.
The attack focused on the Khan Younis area, specifically in the al-Mawasi refugee camp. This area, which extends from the north of Rafah to Khan Younis, had been designated by Israel as a humanitarian area to house those displaced from the north of the Strip since the beginning of the conflict. For its part, Hamas has called the attack on Deif “nonsense.” Abu Zuhri, a senior Hamas official, told Reuters that all victims were civilians and denounced what happened as “a serious escalation of the war of genocidesupported by American support and global silence.” Furthermore, Zuhri stated that this attack demonstrates that Israel is not interested in achieving a ceasefire agreement.
