Woman stabs and wounds six people on bus in Siegen, western Germany

a woman stabbed and injured six people on a bus in the city of Siegen, in the west of Germany. According to the Police, the suspect, 32 years old and of German nationality, was arrested after the attack.

At least 40 people were traveling on the bus at the time of the attack. According to local authorities, at least three of the victims suffered fatal injuriesalthough none have died thanks to the quick action of the emergency services. The Police are trying to determine the motive for the attack, but there are no indications that it was terrorist.

This incident comes a week after a deadly attack with knife in Solingen which left three dead and eight seriously injured.

The suspect is a 26-year-old Syrian citizen who was supposed to be expelled after his asylum application was rejected. As a result of that incident, the Government of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz introduced new restrictions on carrying knives in public places.

He also began to deport convicted criminals to Afghanistan for the first time since the Taliban regained power in 2021 in a facilitated deal by Qatar.
