The coffin of the slain Hamas leader was paraded through the center of the Iranian capital surrounded by mourners waving Palestinian and Iranian flags.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah But Yameneiled the funeral prayer in the courtyard of the University of Tehran, alongside the new Iranian president, Masoud Pezeshkian, before the bodies of Haniyeh and the one who was his bodyguard for the last five years, Wasim Abu Shaaban.
Khamenei literally assured that it is “his duty avenge the murder committed on the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran“. After the funeral in Tehran, Haniyeh’s remains left for Qatar, where he lived in exile, for his burial which is scheduled for this Friday.
A murder prepared and calculated in its consequences
