The Lynch family was aboard the Bayesian, a 56-metre luxury yacht flying the British flag, when it sank in a storm early Monday morning. Civil protection sources indicated that they believe the ship was hit by a powerful waterspout before its sinking, although authorities continue to investigate the exact causes that contributed to would sink so fast.
Mike Lynch’s body was recovered Thursday. The tycoon had been celebrating his recent acquittal of the fraud charges with his family and the people who had defended him in the trial in the United States. His wife Angela Bacares is among those 15 survivors.
Among the six people who disappeared was also the president of Morgan Stanley International, Jonathan Bloomer.
