Protesters have flooded eastern Caracas, in a demonstration led by the opposition against the election results held a month ago in Venezuela. María Corina Machado, former deputy to the National Assembly of Venezuela, has joined the protests, and has insisted that “not a single democratic government has recognized Maduro’s fraud”.

Edmundo González Urrutia, opposition candidate for the July 28 elections, has written on his X account that “These 30 days have been hard, but they have also been proof of our unity”. González Urrutia has limited his public appearances after being threatened by the president Nicolas Maduro with going to jail.

The forces supporting the regime have also taken to the streets to claim the victory of the Chavista leader. This same week he announced that, a year from now, will hold a “megaelection” that will affect the National Assembly, the 23 regions of the country and its 335 mayoralties.

Dozens of countries have demanded the publication of Venezuela’s electoral records, after finding signs of fraud in the vote count.
