OpenAI has recently released its advanced voice assistant to a small number of ChatGPT Plus users.
OpenAI is rolling out “advanced voice mode” for your AI model to a small group of subscribers ChatGPT Plus.
This artificial intelligence (AI) voice assistant was introduced for the first time last May as part of the launch event for OpenAI’s latest and most advanced GPT-4o model.
However, the launch was delayed for security reasons and OpenAI stated that it needed more time before launching it. “We are improving the model’s ability to detect and reject certain content. “We are also working to improve the user experience and prepare our infrastructure to scale to millions while maintaining real-time responses,” the company said last month.
The voice mode also faced controversy for sounding very similar to actress Scarlett Johansson after its initial release.
“Since we first demonstrated advanced voice mode, we have been working to reinforce the security and quality of conversations as we prepare to bring this cutting-edge technology to millions of people,” the company said in X on Tuesday.
According to OpenAI, this voice mode is more natural and allows you to have conversations in real time. It also allows users to interrupt at any time, while detecting and responding to their emotions.
The company added that the new feature has been tested with more than a hundred external collaborators in 45 languages. To protect the privacy of users, the voice assistant will only be able to speak with the four preset voices and will not be able to copy the way others speak.
have also been added additional security measures to block requests violent or protected content for copyright. According to the company, voice mode will continue to be available to more users progressively, and it is planned that all Plus users will be able to access it in the fall.
