More inspections of nuclear power plants in Ukraine and Russia The director of the United Nations nuclear control body Rafael Grossi assured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that they will increase nuclear security assistance to Ukraine.

During his visit to the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenkithe head of the United Nations nuclear oversight body Rafael Grossi explained that it will expand its inspections to include electrical substations that supply energy to Ukraine’s power plants.

Grossi explained that “Some of the, not central, but some of the power lines have been affected. And we already indicated at that time that this was a risk for the plant (from Zaporizhzhia). Therefore, the IAEA could or should also be looking at the substations, the critical substations in the country, which have been subjected to pressure or attacks“.
