Rashee Rice, NFL champion Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver charged with eight felonies due to a car accident in which he was involved last March, he stated this Saturday that he learned his lesson.
“Of course I’ve learned a lot from all that. It’s all I can do, mature and continue to grow from this. This has been a step in a better direction for me,” the receiver said.
Rice, 24, caused a car accident last March 30 in Dallas, Texas, in which four people were injured.
In the incident, the wide receiver was driving a Lamborghini at high speed alongside a Corvette. Both cars collided and involved four other vehicles. Witnesses indicated that the player left the scene without paying attention to those affected.
On April 11, Rashee turned himself in after the Dallas Police Department issued an arrest warrant for him on eight serious charges: six counts of collision involving bodily injury, one count of aggravated assault and one count of collision involving serious bodily injury. .
He was released after posting bail of $40,000, $5,000 for each of the eight charges filed against him.
In mid-April, the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native was sued for one million dollars by two of the people who were injured in the accident.
“You have to learn from your mistakes. I appreciate the support the team has given me. In truth, I have learned many lessons from everything I have been through for the future,” he reiterated.
Rice was present this Saturday at a youth football camp held at Central High School in Kansas City, Missouri.
