Mexican guitars, Greek flutes, Czech violins and Romanian chants sounded at the opening of the twelfth edition of the International Folklore Festival, in Transylvania.
Nine countries were represented at the festival.
Most of the 300 participants were visiting Romania for the first time.
The residents of the city of Aiud where the festival is held participated very actively in the largest local celebration of the year.
The awards ceremony concluded the festival after a weekend full of music and dance from around the world
