Reports of an immediate IBF-ordered bout between newly crowned super middleweight champions William Scull and Vladimir Shishkin are incorrect, according to Agon Sports promoter Ingo Volckmann.
“This is fake news. There was a letter from the IBF, but they did not immediately order a rematch,” Volkmann said. “William will get a bigger fight soon. We are in talks with major companies and options.”
Scull-Shishkin It was a close, tense and tactical fight in which Scull won by scores of 116-112, 116-113 and 115-113, but a close fight doesn’t always mean the arguments are valid.
Dmitry Salita, Shishkin’s promoter It made it clear after the fight that they would lodge a formal protest with the German Commission to overturn the decision. But that hasn’t happened yet.
