The head of European diplomacy has announced that he plans to present a proposal for EU sanctions “against those who facilitate the presence of violent settlers.”
The bloc of 27 is considering impose sanctions on members of the Israeli Governmentled by Benjamin Netanyahufollowing recent settler violence. This was announced by the head of Foreign Policy of the European Union, Josep Borrell, in a message on X.
“We condemn the settler attacks in Jit, whose objective is to terrorize Palestinian civilians“said the head of European diplomacy. “Day after day, with almost total impunity, Israeli settlers fuel violence in the occupied West Bankcontributing to endangering any possibility of peace,” he added.
“The Israeli Government must immediately end to these unacceptable actions“, he stated and assured that his intention is to “present a proposal for EU sanctions against those who facilitate the presence of violent settlers“.
