After watching Rolando “Rolly” Romero easily defeat Manuel Jaimes in Saturday’s junior welterweight bout on the Saul “Canelo” Alvarez-Edgar Berlanga undercard at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Danny Jacobs says he wants to see Romero take on superstar Gervonta “Tank” Davis.

Jacobs, the recently retired former middleweight titleholder, gave his thoughts to ringside guests on Amazon’s Prime Video streaming broadcast.

“I think it’s a very interesting fight,” Jacobs said of a potential Davis-Romero clash.

Romero (16-2, 13 KO) defeated Jaimes (16-2-1, 11 KO) in dominant fashion. won nearly every round (99-91 on the three judges’ scorecards) in a performance that Jacobs believed deserved a shot at Facing Davis

“I like his style,” Jacobs said of Romero. “I love how explosive he is. And he’s smooth as water, like Bruce Lee tonight here. What I think Rollie does is he dominates the ball with a body shot there. Big left hook. In the first half of the battle He is fully loaded.”

Romero, 28, lost his 140-pound world title in March to Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz with a brutal eighth-round stoppage. The Las Vegas native wanted a win over Jaime. to maintain his status as a contender in the division.

When asked about the good times of Romero in the fight “In the second half, I felt like he adjusted and started punching the body,” Jacobs said. Great shot there with a left hook to deliver.”

Meanwhile, Jaimes, a 24-year-old San Jose, California, native, saw his four-fight win streak come to an end.
