Bill Haney responds to Teofimo Lopez Sr’s claims that his son Devin Haney doesn’t want to fight Teofimo Lopez Jr.
Haney responded to Lopez Sr’s latest claim that Devin (31-0, 15 KO) is avoiding a fight with Lopez Jr. (21-1, 13 KO) as López Jr. captured the IBF and WBO lightweight titles.
According to Bill, Devin isn’t afraid to face WBO 140-pound champion Lopez Jr.
“Every opportunity to fight. We put it on the table for you. Including the opportunity with Turki Alalshikh and your company Top Rank a few months ago,” said Bill on FightHype.
“I will let you know and people, Devin Haney wants to fight you anytime, anywhere. Including now Let’s see what your fat mother Danny has to say about that.”
Devin, 25, from San Francisco Still not back in the ring – six months after his junior welterweight fight with Ryan Garcia – was declared a no-contest. Devin initially lost a unanimous decision to Garcia in 12 rounds at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, but random testing conducted by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) found Garcia was positive for ostarine, a banned substance.
Even though the test results were rejected But Garcia was fined $1.1 million and suspended for a year. The fight was changed to a no contest. Devin then sued Garcia for racketeering, battery, and unjust enrichment against Garcia.
Devin’s lawsuit has generated mixed opinions, but Bill believes it’s a reasonable part of the business of boxing.
“And Oscar De La Hoya, everyone left, Gennady Golovkin sued you, and Ryan Garcia threatened to sue you. And I don’t need to sit down and talk to you. without doing anything
“I see you tweet a lot. But you don’t speak at all.” Maybe you’re suffering from a tune out. The lawsuit is still ongoing.”
