The number one option is to cut Jaime Lozano and hand the keys back to Javier Aguirre. The other, the least popular, is to trust Guillermo Almada.

If there is no confidence in the coaching staff and no good generation of players, perhaps the best option is to revolutionize the project and look for a change of direction before it is too late. Perhaps that is why the ‘Vasco’ alternative is the favorite of Juan Carlos Rodríguez, commissioner of the Mexican Soccer Federation, who this day will present a couple of options in the Assembly of Owners of Mexican soccer.

Although Lozano was supported by the president of the FMF Ivar Sisniega and Duilio Davino (the number one candidate to leave his position as manager after the premature elimination of Mexico in the Copa América), Rodríguez’s first option is to make a new change of coach.

According to FOX Deportes journalist Armando Melgar, the commissioner will present two scenarios to the team owners regarding the issue of Mexican team:

1. Cut the process of Jaime Lozano and carry out a vote between two candidates: Javier Aguirre and Guillermo Almada, with ‘Vasco’ being their favorite option and with whom there would even be an arrangement.

2. If the owners opt for continuity, continue with Jaime Lozano and strengthen its coaching staff and sports management with experienced advisors who can support you.

For now, André Jardine is not among the optionsdespite the willingness of the owner of Club América to hand over their coach (Olympic and Liga MX champion and with a new work methodology) in order to have one more option to save the course towards the 2026 World Cup.

What will Mexican soccer choose? Lozano no longer inspires confidence, but it is true that the deep crisis is not the coaches’ fault. Even so, perhaps ‘Vasco’ can make up for the shortcomings with new management and the empty idea that, perhaps with another coach, the results could be different.

After a magical year, André Jardine renewed with América

The Brazilian won four titles in record time and plans to continue like this until 2027
