Italy proposes rebuilding Ukraine’s school infrastructure

Italy’s education minister suggested he would rebuild Ukrainian school systems during a summit in Trieste.

G7 education ministers met on Friday in the northeastern Italian city of Trieste to the second day of his conference three days with the objective of promoting European education.

The meeting agenda includes strengthening cooperation between educational operations of the seven nations.

As part of a set of proposals reviewed by countries, which will be published in a report on the final day of the conference, Italy suggested it would rebuild Ukrainian school systems.

Italian Education and Merit Minister Giuseppe Valdiatara said G7 ministers were grateful that Ukrainian Education Minister Denys Maliuska was present and added that Your country is ready to rebuild school infrastructure of Ukraine, which has been devastated by war.

An attack on the future of young Ukrainians

“We propose take care of the reconstruction of schoolslibraries and infrastructure to be able to give a future to young Ukrainians, because the future and freedom begin above all with culture,” he stated.

According to the Ukrainian Government, more than 3,700 educational facilities in Ukraine have been damaged or destroyed by Russia since the war began. Numerous NGOs have condemned the Kremlin bombings, and Human Rights Watch called the attacks an “attack” on the future of young Ukrainians.
