Will Shakur’s glass hand hold up against Schofield?

Shakur Stevenson believes that he is the “stronger fighter than Floyd Schofield after sparring with him in the last. Shakur’s KO rate, WBC lightweight champion, is 45.5%.

Hand injuries

Stevenson (22-0, 10 KOs) says he’s had hand problems throughout his career, which has limited his ability to land on his punches. I know glass hand it continues to be a problem since he recently had hand surgery.

In a video posted of Shakur working, he was not using his right hand. He is the one who was operated on. If Stevenson’s hand falls apart against Schofield, he will be helpless and unable to fight. He cannot run his way to victory as he did against Edwin De Los Santos and count on the judges to give him a victory because he is the A-side.

“The only thing that makes him a threat is his awkward style. His offbeat rhythm, the jump, and you just have to be prepared for it. But honestly, it’s his son’s level. So, I’ll show him” , Shakur Stevenson told Shawn Porter channeltalking about Floyd Schofield.

“I think it’s an illusion,” Shakur said when asked why fighters think they can beat him after sparring with him. “He didn’t see anything when he was in the ring. He didn’t come out of the ring and say, ‘I think I can beat him because he came out of the ring and said I was the greatest fighter he’d ever been in the ring”.

If Shakur doesn’t throw with power because of his fragile hands, it’s understandable why his sparring partners believe they can beat him. If Schofield is going through what happened with his sparring with Shakur, it is understandable why he feels he can beat him. It’s a logical conclusion that someone would reach after training with a fighter favoring a fragile, injury-prone hand.

“He DMed me and said, ‘Brother, you’re better than anyone I’ve ever seen.’ He remembered how the sparring went,” Shakur said about his sparring with Schofield. “He remembered what happened, but I think the fighters today have to be delusional. I think he is a delusional child, and his father is delusional. They tell themselves that for hype yes, but I read between the lines.

If Shakur couldn’t sit on his fists because of hand problems, how can he call Kid Austin “delusional” for believing he can beat him. It makes sense for him to think he can beat a non-puncher.

“I feel stronger than him. I don’t feel stronger than me. I think people confuse me with having hand problems throughout my career. I think, honestly, I’m a stronger fighter than him,” Shakur said Stevenson.

Shakur sounds delusional here, saying he thinks he’s “stronger” than Schofield because all you have to do is watch his past fights on YouTube, and you can believe that Kid Austin is a much bigger puncher.
