When does Liga MX start and where will Cruz Azul and America play in this tournament?
The first part of the question has an obvious answer:
- Jan. 10 for the visit of the USA to Queretaro at the Correguidora Stadium
The second part of the question has not been answered seven days after the competition:
- La Maquina and ‘Ame’s home matches appear with a ground “to be determined”.
That means, a week before the start of the Clausura 2025, the two clubs with the maximum attendance and credentials to be the protagonists of the competition, have no official headquarters to define their matches.
Of particular concern is the case of Cruz Azul, the historic leader of the Apertura 2024 and top-scoring club throughout last year. And the thing is, unlike America, ‘Cement’ is making its club debut (against Atlas on Saturday, January 11) and its fans don’t know where they’ll be going next weekend.
For other teams at least they are sure where they will play Day 1:
Friday, January 10
- Querétaro vs USA, Corregidora Stadium
- Mazatlán vs Juárez, El Encanto Stadium
- Tijuana vs Toluca, Nemesio Tez Stadium
Saturday 11 January
- San Luis vs Tigres, Alfonso Lastras Stadium
- Rayados vs Puebla, BBVA Stadium
- Chivas Vs Santos, AKRON STADIUM
- Cruz Azul vs Atlas, to be defined
Sunday, January 12
- Pumas vs Necaxa, University Olympic Stadium
Wednesday, February 5
- Pachuca vs Leon, Hidalgo Stadium
Apart from the clash between the Grupo Pachuca clubs, the rest of the matches will be played in the corresponding week of the first date, including the clash between La Maquina and Atlas, where the venue has not yet been determined. This means that even though the match is still eight days away, the match is still scheduled on the original date, so it is expected to be played on time.
