DAZN has revealed the Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury 2 PPV price of £24.99/$39.95 for their rematch on December 21 at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Is Usyk vs Fury 2 PPV price too high?
U $39.95 price for the Usyk-Fury 2 rematch that US fans will pay to watch on DAZN has caused some complaints from people on social media, who think it should be lower due to the lack of an undercard.
An example of a unhappy fan at the price: “For that undercard? No thanks.”
There would be less complaints at the current price if there were two or three solid undercard fights packed into the Usyk-Fury 2 card instead of just one.
Some fans are still unhappy with the result of their first fight on May 18. The referee gave Fury a very strange count of eight in round nine, which saved Fury from being knocked out, but marred the fight for many fans.
It looked so strange how the referee stepped in and threw Usyk out of the way as he finished off a badly injured Fury. There is no way to look at this without concluding that Fury was saved from suffering a knockout.
Undercard Analysis: Hits and Misses
As in the previous fight card between former WBC heavyweight champion Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) and WBA, WBC, and WBO champion Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs), there are there have been some hits and misses.
As I said, there is ONE excellent fight on the undercard between the former WBA junior middleweight champion Israel Madrimov and the former interim WBC champion Serhii Bohachuk.
Both are coming off close, competitive losses in fights they could have won if they had done a little more in the championship rounds. Of all the undercard fights, the Madrimov vs. Bohachuk contest is the one precious gem. I would love to see a rematch for Bohachuk against Vergil Ortiz Jr. and Madrimov fighting Terence Crawford again.
