The Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk 2 press conference will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, October 24, to begin promoting their rematch on December 21 at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The event will be at 5:00pm UK time and noon ET.

It’s reasonable to assume that Fury will be his usual self, telling jokes and putting the media in the rematch. During the press conferences, it was a one-man show for his first fight with Usyk on May 18.

Is Fury’s fist resistance gone?

This time, Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) might be a little more serious because he took a loss in that fight, losing a 12-round split decision, and still believes he won.

It remains to be seen if he can improve, as he is 36 years old and has looked subpar in his last two fights against Usyk and Francis Ngannou. Blaming him for being out of shape won’t work because this is two fights, not one, and he’s getting old.

What was worrying about his fight against Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) was how he was injured in the ninth round, and that shouldn’t happen against this level of puncher.

Some believe that the damage Fury took in his trilogy with Deontay Wilder caused his punch resistance to deteriorate, and it shows now. It responds to Fury’s brain, making him vulnerable against almost anyone who can land a clean headshot.

“A man ready to make redemption for himself to recover three of the belts, and to avenge his defeat,” said Gareth A. Davies to Boxing King Media about what to expect from Tyson Fury during this Wednesday’s press conference to promote his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk on December 21.

“He will try to get his career back on track. Obviously, he has just started the camp. I heard from Spencer Brown, his manager, that he is in a great mood,” Gareth continued about Fury. “I think it will be all singing and all dancing on Wednesday. There will be a lot of fun.

“He’ll have a lot of respect for Oleksandr Usyk, even if a lot of the things he says don’t come off as respect. He’ll sell them. He’ll make it the Tyson Fury show. Look. He likes to be in front of the cameras. He’ll be paid well for the rematch. He wants to win. I think he will make a trilogy if he wins,” said Gareth.
