Turki Al-Sheikh says he will talk to the recently retired Tyson Fury about his return. He says he wants to give “The Gypsy King” “some time” to be with his family before talking to him about fighting.
Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) could also be salty about his recent loss against unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk on Dec. 21 in Riyadh. At the post-fight press conference, he was in complete denial mode, unwilling to accept that Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) had beaten him in his 12-round unanimous decision victory.
Childish reaction
Tyson claimed that he had won by three rounds, and many of his fans supported this illusion by saying the same thing. Interestingly, Tyson also felt that he won the first fight with Usyk. He just thinks he was worked over by the judges and is bitter about it.
The retreat piece was a classic knee-jerk reaction from the “Gypsy King,” as if to say, “You don’t have to hang around anymore.” He is fully soaked, being passive-aggressive to punish the boxing world for not giving him the win over Usyk.
It’s so childish yet utterly predictable from Fury. He wants his needs to be met with the victory given to him, and he cannot accept defeat with a rigid upper limit like most mature adults. He can’t process the defeat.
“First of all, this type of decision should be from the fighters. Of course, as a boxing fan, I don’t like it,” said Turki Al-Sheikh to talkSport Boxing about Tyson Fury’s retirement.
“We want to see Tyson in more big fights, but I can understand his situation. You never know, this kind of decision can be changed by time. I will support him and discuss with him. I will leave him for some time to be with his family , then we can discuss.”
Luring Fury Back
Obviously, Fury will fight again. When Turki millions of waves under his snoot for a Joshua fight, he’s going to come back and act like his old self. Tyson loves money too much not to come back to get that money for AJ fights.
