The Miami Dolphins are placed Tua TagovailoaTheir star quarterback is on injured reserve after a concussion last Thursday against the Buffalo Bills in Week 2 of the 2024 NFL season.
The goal is to allow the quarterback, who is in the concussion protocol, time to meet with outside neurologists and go through the process of returning to action, which will happen at least four games after being placed on the injured list.

Tagovailoa He suffered the third concussion of his career in Miami’s 31-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills. It happened on a play in which the quarterback came out of the pocket and ran down the middle of the field, instead of sliding to avoid defensive contact, he lowered his head and slammed his helmet into Tamar Hamlin’s shoulder.
Dua was left dramatically face down on the grass with both arms stiff and his fists clenched in front of him. He was immediately treated by medical personnel and walked off the field on his own two feet, but was placed in concussion protocol and did not return to the game.

Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said there is no timetable for the quarterback’s return, saying there is no pressure or rush to speed up his return to the field.
After these four weeks of injury, Tagovailoa will be eligible to return in Week 8, when Miami hosts the Arizona Cardinals on October 27.
