Commentator Tim Bradley says Devin Haney is showing he is “Charmin soft” with his decision to file a lawsuit for battery against Ryan Garcia for the loss of him on April 20. Ryan later tested positive for the PED Ostarine and was subsequently fined and suspended for one year by the New York State Athletic Commission.

Bradley disagrees with Haney’s way of dealing with the aftermath of his defeat against Garcia (24-1, 20 KO). I felt the better approach would have been to focus on a rematch and show he could turn things around in a second fight.

Look at it this way: If Ryan’s victory last April was due to his PED use and coming in 3.2 lbs overweight at weight, Haney should be able to defeat him in the rematch if he is clean and weight However, with the decision of the 25-year-old Haney, he lost the opportunity to fight Ryan again, and the other main fighters could ostracize him. That leaves Haney’s only chance for mega-money on his lawsuit, and he could lose.

“The sweetest (stuff) I’ve ever seen in my life. This is Charmin soft. Take your ass like a man,” said Tim Bradley Probox TVReacting to Devin Haney suing Ryan Garcia for battery, fraud, and unjust enrichment.

Social media fans disagree with Haney’s decision to file a lawsuit, and feel he should get revenge. Ryan was willing to give Haney a second fight until he started the lawsuit, but that’s no longer an option. He says he’s not going to give Haney a rematch now.

“He signed the contract, got that extra money for that extra weight, and got the 0 on his record. What else do you want?” Bradley continued, referring to the money Ryan Garcia paid Haney for missing weight, coming in at 143.2 lbs for their April 20 fight.

“Now you’re suing Ryan for battery? It’s a boxing match. You always keep the right hand at home; you didn’t! You fought the wrong game plan.”

“Anything that deters guys, even if it’s just a little bit, I’m all for it,” said Paulie Malignaggi, who is on Haney’s side with his decision to file a lawsuit against Garcia.

If Haney wins a large settlement of tens of millions, it might deter other fighters from using PEDs, but it might not. There is too much to gain for fighters with lesser ability to stop using PEDs because all they need is a big money fight to put them in life with millions. If performance-enhancing drugs help those fighters get that payday, they will continue to use them.
