Breaking his silence after a brutal third-round knockout, Tim Tszyu revealed the worst of his second career defeat. Speaking to Fox News Australiathe Aussie fighter has revealed harrowing details about his physical and emotional recovery. “I couldn’t feel my legs, and my brain was fuzzy. Every time I got hit it felt like a bomb going off,” Tszyu said, recalling the fight. “In my head, I thought, ‘This mother is going to kill me to get me out of here.’
The fight ended with Tszyu knocked down four times, suffering his first concussion. He spent the night in the hospital, unable to sleep. “It was a strange feeling,” he said. “What hurts me is that I couldn’t show it. I’m just humiliated and embarrassed in front of the whole world.”
Adding to the defeat, Tszyu’s girlfriend, Alex, endured vile abuse from the trolls. “People say things and things like that to her, but the fact that she’s able to handle it shows her character,” he said. “Not to my lady, not to my family. It’s not fair.”
Despite the setbacks, Tszyu remains defiant. “I don’t know how many times I got knocked down, but no matter what, I was always going to keep getting back up. I was ready to die here,” he said.
Now, Tszyu wants to connect with his roots and Australian fans. “I want to go back to the old school – no technology, no stats, no numbers. Just pure grinding. I feel like I’ve left my Aussie fans to chase the stars,” he admitted. “Australia has always been in my heart.”
And he couldn’t help but rant at the American coffee shop: “You can’t get good coffee in Vegas. I missed my dog, my lady, the fresh Aussie air, and my local coffee shop.
