Con 10-5 win over Mets in Game 6 of National League Championship Series On Sunday at Dodger Stadium, the Dodgers came within four wins of their ultimate goal and advanced to the World Series for the 22nd time in franchise history.

The Dodgers will now face the American League champion Yankees, setting up a battle between the two World Series giants. It will be the twelfth time the two historic franchises have met in the Fall Classic and the first time since 1981.

After two consecutive eliminations in the National League Division Series last year, president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman, general manager Brandon Gomez and the rest of the front office presented their offseason plan.

They knew that an early departure in October would not be acceptable in the near future. The Dodgers wanted to be aggressive over the winter to give themselves the best chance of that not happening in 2024.

Their priority is to sign two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani. Once the Dodgers achieved their primary goal, the rest of their plan unfolded perfectly. Ultimately, the Dodgers secured all of their top targets over the winter and spent more than $1 billion on contracts.

In doing so, the Dodgers established one of the best rosters in recent memory. The outlook for the 2024 season is simple: World Series or bust.
