The champions at 147 want a big mass for Face the IBF welterweight champion Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis for the Unification fights. Ennis is too dangerous, and other champions don’t want to take less money for a fight they don’t think they can win.

Boot’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, has shown no willingness to pay the champions the money they want. It costs money to put on these fights, and Boots (32-0, 29 KOs) has yet to become a PPV attraction. To entice these champions to take a fight they know they can’t win, Hearn will need to pay more, and he hasn’t shown the will to do so.

Unless Hearn is willing to start investing money into Ennis to make these fights happen to turn him into a star, he has to give up on his dream of becoming the undisputed champion.

“When you get to the level where Jaron Ennis is, where he’s a world champion and a dangerous guy, opponents are going to ask for a purse,” Chris Mannix told DAZN Boxing. X on the problems facing IBF 147-lb champion Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis on his problems getting unification fights against other welterweight champions.

“That’s what happened with the Brian Norman situation. They wanted a bunch of money if they were going to get in the ring with Boots. The same with Eimantas Stanionis. The same thing with Mario Barrios. These guys know that Eddie Hearn He needs to do great battles for his star fighter, and they will ask for the kind of money accordingly.

It’s not just that the champions know that Hearn is needed. They obviously feel they can’t win this fight, and they’re not just going to give away their world titles for $1 million. You can’t fault champions like WBO belt Brian Norman Jr. to want $2.2 million to deal with a talent like Ennis in his hometown of Philadelphia.

It’s not like the champions are asking for a King’s ransom for a fight against Ennis. It’s more a case that they feel it’s best for them to keep their titles and wait until His Excellency Turki Alalshikh looks in their direction to offer them massive money to fight on one of his Riyadh Season cards .

Ennis makes a low-profile defense against her IBF title holder Karen Chukhadzhian next month in a rematch on November 9 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. Hearn failed to negotiate a unification fight between Ennis and Norman, which is why Boots is stuck with the defense against Karen.
