Roger Goodell, Commissioner NFLSuper Bowl LXII will be played in Atlanta, Georgia in February 2028 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the home of the Falcons, it announced Tuesday.
“Atlanta, known for its hospitality and rich sports and entertainment culture, is a world-class event destination and an ideal location for Super Bowl LXII,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
The announcement was made during the fall league meetings in Atlanta, where owners of all 32 NFL teams will participate.
The decision was made after a review of the proposal by the NFL’s Fan Engagement and Major Events Committee and a poll of all owners, with special thanks to Falcons owner Arthur Blank.
“Arthur Plank has been a transformative figure in the Atlanta community. He has been instrumental in leading the charge to bring the Super Bowl back to the city. Looking forward to working with him, “The Atlanta Falcons, the Atlanta Sports Council and all of our partners will work together to create an unforgettable experience for fans around the world in 2028,” the commissioner added.
This will be the fourth time the city of Atlanta has hosted an NFL title game, and the second time the game will be played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the most recent happening in 2019.
“It is a great honor for the city of Atlanta and the state of Georgia to be chosen as the hosts of Super Bowl LXII,” said the owner and chairman of the Falcons, who was grateful for the trust in organizing the event.
“I thank my fellow owners for giving Atlanta this opportunity, Commissioner Goodell, Peter O’Reilly and the entire league for their continued leadership in making the NFL the best sports league in the world,” said Arthur Blank.
Before coming to Atlanta, The Super Bowl LIX 2025 will be held at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana; The LX edition will be held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California in 2026; And number LXI, in 2027, will be at Sophie Stadium in Inglewood, California.
