Pope mentions the Saints and New Orleans responds epically

It’s common for Pope Francis to praise the Saints, but his mention of the New Orleans Saints is an event an NFL team can’t miss in these crunch moments when coach Dennis Allen was fired for poor results.

Through an agreement with X (formerly Twitter), the New Orleans franchise has set aside the #Saints label. This means that every time someone uses this hashtag, the Louisiana company’s coat of arms (fleur-de-lis) will appear next to the word. That’s why when Pope’s account used the cat symbol before the word “saints,” it was directly referring to the team from the Southern Division of the National Conference.

It was an error on the part of the papal communications department since it was published about the importance of saints in Catholicism, however, since the New Orleans Saints were named, the group decided to respond to this publication with a photo: none other than Pope Francis, holding a white Saints jersey with his name on it.

While New Orleans is one of the worst teams in the NFL (two wins and seven losses), the team appreciated the Pope’s note and acknowledged that prayers are needed at this time, especially in the face of what Darren will be. Rizzi’s debut as coach against the Atlanta Falcons.
