Oscar bid farewell to Shanghai Port of the Chinese Super League, where he became the team’s best reference after eight.
The Brazilian has already announced his return to the club where he coached at the end of the 2024 campaign, making his professional debut in 2008 at São Paulo.
In a message through his social networks, Oscar promised:
“Today I close a circle that will mark my life forever. I cannot help but feel a mixture of emotions when I wear this shirt with such pride and say goodbye after 8 years. Those were intense years, full of hard work, dedication and, above all, achievements. Together we won everything possible, this is what this club is all about. Thank you to all of our unconditional support and fans for being a part of it.”
During his time at Shanghai Port, the Brazilian played 248 games, scored 77 goals, won five Chinese Super Leagues, one Chinese FA Cup and one FA Super Cup.
Oscar arrived from Chelsea in 2017 for $75 million, a transfer record in Asia.
The club thanked the forward for his career:
“What an extraordinary way to end your journey with us! Captain, thank you for your unmatched dedication, passion and leadership on and off the field. “You came in like a star and left like a legend!”
