A rubber-chewing, jacketed Tyson Fury weighed in at 281 lbs, and the unified heavyweight champion climbed to 226 lbs at Friday’s weigh-in for his rematch in the main event tomorrow night, Saturday, December 21, in Riyadh.
Fury’s weight is 21 lbs heavier than the 262 he came in for his previous fight against Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) seven months earlier on May 18. After weighing in today, Fury threw a few air punches and it looked powerful for him.

Fury Bulks Up For Rematch
We don’t know if the added weight will help Fury on Saturday night or hinder him against the lighter, faster and more athletic Usyk. We saw how the heavy weight of the 1920s First Carnera he failed to use his massive 280+ lb size when fighting smaller fighters.
Could it be the same situation for Fury on Saturday night? Bigger isn’t better when fighting talents like Usyk, and it could mean Fury will make a louder noise when he hits the canvas.
“There will be no surprises. Usyk will be brilliant. He is brilliant every time,” said Eddie Hearn to DAZN Boxing after Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk weighing in today for their rematch.
“I think a lot of it depends on what Tyson Fury brings to the fight. Last time, it was a close fight. People are talking like a lime last time. It was a very competitive fight. Tyson will have to do something of extraordinary tomorrow evening.
“He’s capable of it. We’ve seen it in the past. Can he produce tomorrow night? We’ll see. I’d love to see him do it. He’s brilliant for boxing. The first fight was one of the best heavyweights I’ve ever seen. I’m so glad we can see the rematch. Fury is good at it, but it’s very hard to pick against the greatness of Oleksandr Usyk at the same time,” said Hearn.
