Necaxa announced this Monday As a result of the poor results, coach Eduardo Fentanes left Team in the Apertura 2024 tournament.
“After a thorough analysis, a mutual agreement has been reached for Professor Eduardo Fendanes to step down from his position as technical director of our first men’s team,” the team’s management announced on their social networks.
Led by Fentanes, Necaxa collected three wins, four draws, seven losses and 13 points in its first 14 games in the championship; Appears in thirteenth place with no chance of entering the play-off zone for a place in the quarter-finals.
The team has had its ups and downs, with an offense that has room for improvement and a defense that is at times shaky, wondering who should replace the fired coach.
“We thank Eduardo and his coaching staff for the work, professionalism and commitment they have shown to this organization during their tenure. We wish him great success in his future professional projects,” the note said.
Managers have begun evaluating candidates to take charge of the squad for the Clausura 2024 tournament, while Luis Padilla will take charge of Aguascalientes on an interim basis for the team’s remaining three matches in the competition.
Necaxa will travel to Pachuca next Sunday, host San Luis on November 6 and Atlas on November 10 for the remaining three games in the Apertura.
