The Mexican Football Federation (FMF) has asked CONCACAF to “act according to the rules” following the attack Tri coach Javier Aguirre received at the Francisco Morazán stadium in San Pedro Sula, Honduras last Friday.
“The FMF firmly rejects any violence in football and reiterates its commitment to safety. “After the incident at the General Francisco Morazón stadium, we have taken the necessary steps to request Concacaf to act in accordance with the regulations,” the football governing body in Mexico said in a press release.
At the end of the first leg of the CONCACAF Nations League quarter-finals, which Honduras won 2–0, Aguirre suffered a head injury from a can thrown at him by a fan.

“The safety of teams and fans is Concacaf’s priority. This type of violent behavior has no place in football,” the confederation added.
