CWe celebrate the third season of MAKE a Difference with a very special program focused on the Paris Games. We begin with a visit to the set of a woman who makes a difference on the handball courts. Until recently it was said that she was one of the great promises of Spanish women’s handball but today she is already one of the best players in it. Paula Arcos, who among her hallmarks are the fight and the determination as a good ‘Warrior’. He debuted with the national team at senior level in the Tokyo Games at only 19 years old and at club level, it was MVP of the Iberdrola Guerreras League in the 2021-2022 season, he did a double with Bera Bera winning the Super Cup and Queen’s Cup. And this year he has won the Norwegian League and Cup with Vipers, champion of the Champions League for the last three seasons. Before he played for Atlético Guardés and Elche.
Laura Fuertes, the first Spanish boxer to win a world medal (bronze in 2022) and the first to qualify for the Games, answers our test.
And we close the program and the season with the swimmer María Delgado, who experienced her first Paralympic Games in London 2012, but then as a spectator there. Four years later, the skilled swimmer not only participated in the Rio 2016 but also won two bronze medals. At 26 years old – he debuted in a World Cup when he was 15 – he has also accumulated 12 world medals and 12 European medals. We have gone to the Madrid High Performance Center, where he has lived and trained for a decade, to learn the secret of his success and see how he faces the final stretch towards his third Games.
