IBF welterweight champion Liam Paro says challenger Richardson Hitchins doesn’t like being involved. fast battlesAnd this is what he intends to bring to him in 18 days on December 7 in his headliner on DAZN at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente, San Juan.

Hitchins (18-0, 6 KOs) didn’t fare well in his last fight against the 5’5″ Gustavo Lemos, whom he defeated by an unpopular 12-round unanimous decision on April 6 in Las Vegas.

It was a fight where he took a lot of hard shots to Lemos, who has power, and got the better of him throughout the fight. The Nevada judges gave Hitchins, promoted by Eddie Hearn, a big break by giving him the decision, but it was a narrow victory. He had been exposed.

Hitchins vs Lemos Punch Stats

Lemos: 161 out of 696 for an accuracy of 23.1%.
Hitchins: 172 of 548 punches for 31.4%

Paro will apply pressure to Hitchins as Lemos did, but likely with more emphasis on the power play. Hitchin, 27, a native of Brooklyn, New York, falls apart when hit hard and takes off running.

We saw that in play in his fights against Lemos and Jose Zepeda. The crowd booed Hitchins loudly for an unwillingness to commit or stay in the pocket.

This is Paro’s first defense of his IBF 140-lb title which he captured earlier this year against the division’s boogeyman, Subriel Matias, on June 15 in Manati, Puerto Rico.

Southpaw Paro (25-0, 15 KOs) neutralized Matias’ power using movement, holding, and roughhouse tactics to win a 12-round unanimous decision in front of his fans. It wasn’t always easy for Paro, 28, because he took some big shots from Matias while staying in the pocket.

If Paro didn’t have a nice chin, he might not have gotten through because some of the shots he was hit with would have knocked out fighters like Devin Haney.

“He doesn’t like a quick fight, and he doesn’t like a dog fight,” said Liam Paro YSM Sports Media when asked if he saw Richardson Hitchins last fight against Gustavo Lemos on April 6th. “Anyone who knows Liam Paro knows what I am.

“We’ll see on December 7 if that self-belief is there for himself. Liam Paro is coming 110%. I’m ready to hear the words, ‘And always.’
