IBF welterweight champion Liam Paro says Richardson Hitchins doesn’t like “fast, fast” fights, and that’s what he plans to do for him on December 7 in their 12-round bout at the Roberto Clemente Coliseo in San Juan . Puerto Rico.
Paro (25-0, 15 KOs) feels Hitchins (18-0, 7 KOs) is an “insecure” fighter who doesn’t believe in himself. Therefore, he plays a lot of pranks on his opponents. Paro says that he is not disturbed by Hitchins’ speech because he recognizes what is all about him.
Paro-Hitchins will be live on DAZN in a show promoted by Matchroom. This will be a fight that could lead to bigger things for Paro. The IBF’s 10lb rehydration limit could scare fighters like Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia.
“He just likes to talk, as we have seen. I just think that he is hiding his insecurities and disbelief in himself,” said Liam Paro to FighthypeThey talk about Richardson Hitchins, who gave a lot of lip service. “We’ll see on December 7 how arrogant and one-dimensional I am. I just let my fight speak, and I’ve always been like that.”
Hitchins always talks a lot about his opponents. So what he is doing with Paro is not a departure from what he has done in the past. He just likes to walk, and in some ways, that’s a good thing because it creates more interest in his fights. He didn’t fight anyone at a high level, but he received a good amount of attention by talking a lot.
“No, you don’t know me. Let him talk. He can have his own opinion. I don’t really care. I’m in my lane the same way I’ve been all my career. We’re already scouting the division. We know who was a potential opponent. He was high in the ranking for a while.
“I’m ready to defend my throne and build my own legacy. It’s not Matias,” Paro said of Hitchins. “He doesn’t have the work rate of Matias, and he doesn’t have the mind of Matias. I was blessed to share the ring with him.
“He doesn’t like a quick fight. We have to bring the pace to him, and let him know before he is in a dog fight. I will take him in deep water and drown him. If he comes, he comes .I’m not going to look for the knockout, but anyone who’s been in the ring with me knows that I punch hard.
“The targets are locked on Hitchins’ head. I will go there with a dominant performance,” said Paro.
Hitchins is going to try to box Paro because he doesn’t have the power, the work rate, or the ability to fight in the trenches against a fighter like him. We saw how Hitchins struggled scared in his matches against Gustavo Lemos and Jose Zepeda when he started hitting hard from them. He gets on his bike and rides off as the crowd boos.
