In the same statement on Friday, the Heat announced that Butler had been suspended for seven games “for a number of incidents that have been detrimental to the team throughout the season and particularly in recent weeks.”
Butler said Thursday that he had no desire to play basketball in Miami and that he couldn’t find it again with the Heat.
“Through his actions and statements, he has demonstrated that he no longer wants to be a part of this team. Jimmy Butler and his representative have indicated they would like to be traded, so we will be asking for offers,” the Heat said Friday. .
