Haney Invites Prograis To Camp To Help Train For Catterall

Devin Haney seemed to clown Regis Prograis today in reaction to him graciously saying in an interview that he has more tools than Jack Catterall. Instead of thanking him, Haney invited him to his camp when he started training for Catterall.

Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) hopes that His Excellency Turki Alalshikh will be interested in putting a fight between him and Catterall. It is doubtful whether it will be done.

Prograis responded to Haney’s mocking comment, saying: “I think you might be bipolar bro.

It seemed strange that Haney would invite former WBA and WBC welterweight champion Prograis (29-3, 24 KOs) to live, apparently as a sparring partner, when he had complimented him with the “tools” comment.

On Saturday night, Haney appeared upset when Prograis told Catterall he was the best fighter he had fought in his career following his 12-round unanimous decision loss at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, England . Haney later posted xsaying: “I ruined Regis and beat him worse than Catterall. Regis is just bitter.”

If that wasn’t enough, Haney said that Prograis should “retire” and that he doesn’t have a chin. That comment is rich coming from Haney, considering what Ryan Garcia just did for him on April 20, knocking him down three times in a one-sided 12-round victory in Brooklyn, New York.

Prograis responded to Haney, saying, “No, I’m not retired. I’ll be champion again.” Regis will move up to welterweight, and has an excellent chance to defeat one of the three champions to become a two-division world champion. If Prograis captures a title at 147, a rematch with Haney could be in the cards in the future if Devin doesn’t retire in 2025 if things go badly for him on his way back.
