Promoter Oscar De La Hoya has revealed that he is in talks to make a Golden Boy Promotions – Matchroom Boxing 5 vs. 5 events in 2025.
This would be a competition for De La Hoya to match five of his best Golden Boy fighters with Eddie Hearn’s best five guys available. The two fighters compete to prove who has the top guys.
Golden Boy-Matchroom Showdown
“We continue to have discussions and prepare to do great things in 2025,” Golden Boy promoter Oscar De La Hoya told Fight Hub TV about planning to do a 5 vs 5 competition with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing next year.

Edgar Berlanga or Diego Pacheco vs. Bektemir Melikuziev
Jai Opetaia vs Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez

De La Hoya already has one of his fighters, Floyd Schofield Jr., challenging Hearn’s fight, WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson, on February 22 at the Turki Al-Sheikh event in Riyadh. Oscar is confident that Schofield will upset Shakur in that fight.
