Fury’s Silence Worries Hearn: Is Joshua Vs. Doomed Fury?

Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn worries Tyson Fury may choose not to fight again after losing to Oleksandr Usyk three weeks ago.

“The Gypsy King” no doubt bristled at his second defeat against the Ukrainian talent, bitter about what he believed to be yet another robbery.

Fury has already made a boatload of money, sitting like a king on top of a massive fortune estimated to be $160 million smackers. He doesn’t need the extra bulk that two fights against Joshua brought him. Tyson can freeze AJ, Hearn and the fans just for the hell of it.

Joshua-Fury is seen as two has-beens by the boxing public anyway, and it would be seen as greed if they fought now. The public would be excited to see this match if the fight had happened a few years ago.

Now, it’s two scrappy old Brits, both filthy rich beyond anyone’s wildest dreams, trying to increase their massive J. Paul Getty-esque luck

“Tyson Fury is the fight he wants,” said Eddie Hearn Sky Sports Boxing about Anthony Joshua who wanted a fight against Tyson Fury in 2025. “The real key in this is Tyson Fury. He is three weeks from a defeat. He is probably still angry, and probably still reflecting on that defeat. We will see if he wants fight again, and if he wants to fight again, what else can Fury do?

Hearn looked like a worried ice cream vendor at the Ring Awards, talking about the Fury-Joshua fight. It would be better if Turki Al-Shiekh chooses to make AJ and Tyson earn this fight by insisting that they take these fights first to show that they still have it:

  • Anthony Joshua vs. Martin Bakole
  • Tyson Fury vs. Daniel Dubois

If Joshua & Fury pass these tests, it would make sense that Turki would pull the trigger on this fight. At least the fans could respect that.
