Leonard Ellerbe confirmed today on X that the fight between Gervonta Davis and Lamont Roach is still on March 1st at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Tank Davis (30-0, 28 KOs) sparked some drama this week when he posted this message on Instagram on December 23rd: “The fight is fucking canceled.” Davis later deleted the message. The same day, Roach (25-1-1, 10 KOs) posted a video of him working out, preparing for the fight.
Drama done?
Some fans believe that Tank is trying to create fake drama to boost interest in his matchup against Roach because it is seen as another of his many cherries during his 11-year professional career.
The fight has already been moved once from December 14 to March 1, and is seen as a product that no one wants. It won’t be a shock if Tank continues with the takedown spots to get the fans excited for this match.

It is unclear if former CEO of Mayweather Promotions Ellerbe is still working with Tank Davis or if it is an acquittal.
Gervonta or his team did not consider what the reaction would be from the fans when they chose the super feather Roach as their opponent.
