Daniel Dubois says there is room for improvement in a rematch with Anthony Joshua if AJ chooses to fight again. Dubois wants to be “more clinical” next time he faces Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs), and he thinks he can.

It’s hard to imagine Dubois improving on his performance against AJ on Saturday night, as he was nearly perfect. It could be disastrous if Dubois tinkers with his relentless, bombs-away style to include more boxing in his game.
Joshua did not pronounce a look on taking the rematch, and he may choose to avoid Dubois and focus on going after the money fights. He can collect a massive purse fighting Tyson Fury next, and that’s what his promoter, Eddie Hearn, is interested in.
Last Saturday night, Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) defeated Joshua in the fifth round in a successful defense of his IBF heavyweight title at London’s Wembley Stadium. Joshua had talked about wanting to become a three-time champion, and he seemed too confident to do so.
“Yes, if it happens, I will go. I will do even better next time. I know what I need to improve. I just want to prove people wrong all the time, and that’s what we did. Next time, I believe I will be more clinical,” said Daniel Dubois to talkSport Boxing about his interest in a rematch with Anthony Joshua.
It would be better for Dubois to put Joshua out of his mind and focus on more realistic fights. He probably won’t have the opportunity to fight Joshua or the winner of the Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk 2 fight.
The performance of Dubois against AJ can scare the best, because his management focuses on more winning fights that involve bigger paydays. The realistic options for Dubois are these fighters:
– Joseph Parker
– Zhilei Zhang
– Dillian Whyte
– Martin Cole
“When one. The one that pays me the most,” said Dubois when asked if he would prefer a rematch with Joshua instead of fighting the winner of the Fury-Usyk rematch.
