Devin Haney climbed out of the woodwork tonight to take a man down while he was down, dragging Regis Prograis after his 12 round unanimous decision defeat to Jack Catterall at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, England.

Haney looked like Prograis (29-3, 24 KOs) was gently telling Catterall (30-1, 13 KOs) that he is “the best” has fought throughout his career and saying he deserves a world title shot now.
That classy comment from former WBA and WBC 140-lb champion Prograis caused a reaction from Haney, who roasted him on X, saying that he “ruined” Prograis with his victory over him last year on December 9 at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California.
Boxing fans believe that Ryan Garcia ruined Haney, who has not fought since and may never be the same after the way he was dominated in their fight on April 20.
Haney won a 12-round unanimous decision with scores of 120-107 x 3, but it was an ugly win that involved a lot of holding and running on his part. It was so boring to watch, and even more so than Catterall’s win tonight, which had a Shakur-esque quality to it. The difference is that Catterall is just a blue collar guy from the UK.
Catterall showed rare power tonight, dropping the 35-year-old Prograis twice in round nine and putting him on the defensive in the final three rounds. In the twelfth, Prograis tried to throw a homerun save, missing badly and falling on the canvas face first.
The scores were 117-108, 116-109 and 116-109. The defeat of Prograis could end his career. He has not made a retirement announcement, but it is believed that he may choose to retire.
“I think Jack is the best I’ve fought,” Prograis told DAZN after his loss tonight against Jack Catterall. “I’ve had my time in the sun. It’s time to get back to it. Really good, Jack. I’ve fought the best of them. You were the best so far.”
