This game Washington commanders always had what was called a ‘divisional bounce’A Zane Gonzalez field goal got a little help from the post to give the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a 23-20 win in the wild card round.

With 4:41 left in the fourth quarter and the Bucs tied it with a field goal at 20, Jayden Daniels and the Commanders’ offensive line knew time was running out on a winning field goal.

There were a few key plays in the game to keep Washington’s hopes alive, with Daniels making a 21st save on 3rd-and-6 to Jimmy Brown for the game’s first touchdown.

Then, with 55 seconds left, Daniels ran four yards on third-and-2 from the Tampa Bay 19-yard line to end the game.

Gonzalez launched that kick from 37 yards out, and he immediately started going right, and every Bucks fan in Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay expected him to hit the uprights. But when the ball bounced off the right post, it was three points and the win advanced to the divisional round.

It was Washington’s first playoff win since 2005, and it was thanks to another gutsy performance by Jaden Daniels, the second overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
